Update/Review Tags

Tags can be used for many different purposes, including indicating that a person participates in a group or holds an office at your church. The year end is a good time to review these tags and make sure that those who should have these tags do, and those who shouldn't have those tags are removed.

Here's an easy way to review who has what tags, and how to remove those tags, if needed:

  1. Click on the gear in the top right corner of the page and choose "Tags".
  2. Next to each tag, the number of people who have that tag will be displayed. Click on this number, and you will be taken to the people screen, where you can see who these people are.
  3. Check the box next to each person you need to remove the tag from, and then click "Add/Remove Tags" 
  4. Next to each tag, there is an "x". Click this x to remove the tag from each person you had selected.
  5. Click "Close" when finished.

A similar process can be taken to add tags to a group of people:

  1. From the people screen, select a smartgroup of people you want to work with. If you don't have a particular smartgroup that has all the people you want to add, you can simply use the "Everyone" group, and use the "Type to Filter People" box to search for the specific people you're looking for.
  2. Check the box next to each person you want to add a tag to, and then click "Add/Remove Tags" at the bottom of the window.
  3. Type in the name of the tag you want to add to the people you selected.
  4. Click "Close" when finished.
