What fields do not import into Church360° Members from Shepherd's Staff? [FAQ]


For your convenience, CTS has developed an importer that allows you to upload your Shepherd's Staff database directly into your Members site. 

While converting, it's important to note that, though Church360° and Shepherd's Staff are both CTS products, they are two different software, made by separate development teams and using different database logic.

For that reason, not every field from Shepherd's Staff has a landing spot in Church360° Members process and some data will end up on the cutting room floor. This page highlights the different fields you would see in Shepherd's Staff and how those fields translate while being uploaded. Most fields will be imported into similar fields, including:

  • First Name
  • Preferred Name
  • Middle Name
  • Last Name
  • Suffix
  • Title
  • Household name
  • Sex
  • Ethnic origin
  • Birth date
  • Member or Non-member
  • Received by (as a member) reason
  • Received (as a member) date
  • Removed by (as a member) reason
  • Removed (as a member) date 
  • Baptism date
  • Confirmation date
  • Envelope number (can only be shared between married couples)
  • Cell phone
  • Personal email
  • Work phone
  • Work email
  • Grade
  • Primary Phone
  • Secondary Phone
  • Household email
  • Home address
  • Home address phone numbers
  • Person Away address
  • Person Away Start and End dates
  • Person Away phone numbers
  • Mailing address (if Home Address is not used as mailing address)
  • Label name styles (for mailing labels)

Some fields will be imported under a different field or section on your Members site:

  • The "Receives Newsletter" checkbox imports as a custom household field
  • Membership participation statuses (except Active) are imported as tags
  • Activities/Skills/Spiritual Gifts/Training are imported as tags
  • Service planning, Pastoral care, or other Touchpoints are imported as notes on timeline as well as in the Pastoral Visits view
  • Any custom field (Option, Text, Yes/No, and Date) with a customized name will import as a custom field. If the custom field retains its default name (ex. Option 1), it will not be imported.

Fields referring to relationships are only imported if the other person also has a person record in the database. This predominately relates to parental and marital relationships so some other relationships might not carry over.

  • Birthplace (can be opened by clicking the pushpin icon next to Birthdate)
  • Death place (can be opened by clicking the pushpin icon next to Death date)
  • Membership code (Associate, Preparatory, Full Member, etc)
  • First Communion date
  • Additional Address Notes
  • Home address description
  • Phone number descriptions
  • Emergency Phone Numbers
  • Preferred contact method
  • Education level
  • Current school
  • Occupation or title
  • Military status
  • Work shift
  • Employer
  • Medical / Allergies
  • Household type
  • Non-household checkbox
  • Preferred newsletter format
