If your Church has offering records from another source, such as historical records, an electronic giving provider, or a spreadsheet of offerings given on a recurring basis, you can use the Offerings CSV Importer to import those offering records into Church360°, eliminating the need for manual entry.
CSV Data Fields
Required Fields
Each row must include:
- Date
- Amount
- Either:
- Fund Name or
- Fund Number
Optional Fields
- Giver Name
- Envelope Number
- Giver ID
- Fund Name (if Fund Number is already included)
- Fund Number (if Fund Name is already included)
- Fee
- Check Number
- Memo
- Payment Type
File Format Requirements
- File must be saved in .csv file format.
- Column headers must appear in the first row.
- Each subsequent row should represent an offering to a single fund.
Pre‑Upload Checklist
- Date: Ensure every row includes a valid calendar date entered in MM/DD/YYYY or MM/DD/YY format.
- Amount: Verify that each row has a numeric amount greater than zero with no text or symbols.
- Givers: Confirm that each giver exists in Church360°. Any row missing Giver Name, Envelope Number, and Giver ID will be imported as a Loose Offering.
- Fund: Make sure each fund exists in Church360°.
- Final Review: Double‑check that all required fields are populated.
Importing Offerings from a CSV File
Step 1: Start the Import
- Open the Offerings view.
- Click Import.
Step 2: Select the CSV File
The Import Offerings window gives an explanation of the expected columns.
- Click Choose File.
- Select your CSV file and click Open.
- Click Import.
Step 3: Confirm Header Row
- The view will show what the system believes to be the header row on your file.
- If incorrect, use the arrow controls to move the selection.
- Click Next once headers are correctly identified.
Step 4: Match CSV Columns to Church360° Fields
- The import will auto-match columns from the file to Church360° data fields if you use the same column headers shown below (and in the attached sample import file). If any of your fields do not auto-match, you can use the dropdowns to match the CSV columns to the corresponding data fields.
- Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required.
- Click Next after making all applicable selections.
Step 5: Match Givers
- The system displays Giver information as it appears in the file.
- If both a name and envelope number are present, both will display.
- Rows without any Giver data will not appear and will be imported as Loose Offerings.
- The import will attempt to match Givers from the file to Givers in Church360°.
- For any who do not auto-match, use the dropdowns to match imported Givers to Church360° Giver records.
- Joint Givers will appear as a single combined option in the drop-down.
- Check the Remember checkbox when selecting a giver.
- Church360° will recognize these mapped Giver selections, if the same Giver show up again in future imports.
- Click Next when finished.
Step 6: Match Offering Funds
- Imported Fund Names and/or Numbers appear on the right.
- Use dropdowns to match any unmapped funds.
- If you don't select a Fund from the drop-down, the offering on that row will be skipped during import.
- The import will attempt to match Funds from the file with Funds in Church360°.
- Check the Remember checkbox when selecting a Fund.
- Church360° will recognize these mapped Fund selections, if the same Fund name or number show up again in future imports.
- Click Next to continue.
Step 7: Verify Payment Types
- Review payment types listed.
- Adjust as needed using the dropdowns.
- If no payment type is provided in the file for an offering record, it will default to Electronic.
- Click Preview Import.
Step 8: Review and Confirm Import
- Review the import summary and a preview of the first few offerings.
- If everything looks correct, click Confirm Import.
Once completed, the imported offerings will appear as new batch(es) in the Offerings view for the applicable date(s).
